Zaruri Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Zaruri Technologies Inc. ("Zaruri", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Zaruri website at zaruri.com and the Zaruri application (together, the "Service").
Zaruri is a workspace for tax professionals and their firms ("Customers"). Customers use Zaruri to manage their own clients' tax documents. When we process a Customer's client information, we do so on the Customer's behalf and under the Customer's instructions.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Name, email address, firm name, role, and sign-in and multi-factor authentication details for users of the Service.
Customer content. Documents and information that Customers upload or enter, which can include sensitive financial information and taxpayer identifiers.
Information from connected services. If you choose to connect a third-party service, we receive the information that service shares with your permission (see section 4 for Google).
Usage and device information. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, actions taken, dates and times, used to operate, secure and improve the Service.
Communications. Messages you send us, such as support requests.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate and maintain the Service and its features;
- process documents and information Customers provide, for the Customer's review;
- send service emails, such as notifications and security alerts;
- secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep audit records;
- provide support and respond to requests;
- comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Customer content or information from connected services for advertising.
3. Automated processing and AI
Some features use automated processing, including AI models, to prepare suggestions. Suggestions are labeled, and the Customer's professionals review and decide. We do not use Customer content or Google user data to train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
4. Google user data
If you connect your Google account, Zaruri requests access only to what the calendar features need:
| Permission (scope) | What Zaruri does with it |
|---|---|
Your basic profile and email address (openid, email, profile) | Identify which Google account is connected and show it in your settings. |
See your list of calendars (calendar.calendarlist.readonly) | Let you choose which calendars Zaruri uses. |
See when you are free or busy (calendar.events.freebusy) | Find open times when proposing client appointments. |
View and edit events on your calendars (calendar.events) | Show your agenda inside Zaruri and create, update or cancel the appointments you confirm. |
How we use it. Google user data is used only to provide these user-facing calendar features in Zaruri. Zaruri creates or changes an event only after you confirm it.
How we store and protect it. Access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest and stored only on our servers. Calendar data is stored only as needed to show your schedule and keep it in sync.
Sharing. We do not sell Google user data and do not share it with third parties, except (a) with service providers that help us run the Service under confidentiality and security obligations, (b) when you direct us to (for example, sending an invitation to a client), (c) to comply with law, or (d) as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you. Humans at Zaruri do not read your Google user data unless you give us permission for a support request, it is needed for security or legal reasons, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Limited Use. Zaruri's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting and deletion. You can disconnect Google at any time in Zaruri settings or at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect, we revoke our tokens and delete the Google calendar data we stored within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law.
5. How we share information
We share information only:
- with service providers that host, secure, process or support the Service, under contracts that limit their use;
- within a Customer's firm, according to the roles the Customer sets;
- when a Customer directs us to;
- to comply with law, legal process or to protect rights and safety;
- in a business transfer, subject to this Policy.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to sensitive financial data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, multi-factor authentication and audit logs. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected Customers of a security incident as required by law.
7. Data retention
We keep Customer content for as long as the Customer's account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or return it according to the Customer's agreement and applicable law. Professional records may need to be kept for periods required by law; Customers control their own retention obligations.
8. Your choices and rights
You can access and update account information in the Service. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information. If your information was provided by a tax professional using Zaruri, please contact that professional first; we will help them respond. Contact us at privacy@zaruri.com.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information through the website or app accounts.
10. Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date. For material changes, we will notify Customers by email or in the Service.
